“Why Look Back at the League of Nations?” by Susan Pedersen

In her Award-winning book, The Guardians:The League of Nation and the Crisis of Empire, Susan Pedersen shows how the League of Nation's attempt to reform imperial  rule instead undermined the authority of the European empires and paved the way to the emergence of the new states after World War II. Her lecture expands on this work, describing how many global regimes and norms dealing with international problems also grew out of League efforts. Historians are now looking back at the Leagues to understand the genealogy of today's interconnected world.
